Metro Zhivago: Portlaned, Oregon, United States; Welcome to Stair Gallery, the wall on the stairs where the family history is hung. It's not really a room but it is a proud and comfortable display of genetic code and handywork. This room is virtual too but it serves the same purpose. I am a collaboration of my genetic make-up and environment. My tastes and skills are varying combinations of my relationships with the former. I have my Grandfather's nose, my Grandmother's drawing hand, my Mother's taste for delicate flavors. I share some of these attributes in varying combinations with my sister; another collaboration of the same genetic make-up with a totally different final result. The evidence is framed neatly on the wall, tidier than the experience ever was.
